A MAN was punched several times by two unknown men in a bar on Cowley Road.

Between midnight and 1am on Wednesday October 24 a man was assaulted by two unknown men inside The Baron bar in Cowley Road whilst trying to help another man who had also been assaulted by the same men.

The victim was punched several times and sustained bruising to his face and head. He attended hospital for treatment.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the assault.

The offenders are described as two white men in their fifties. One was wearing a Liverpool football shirt and the other man was wearing a khaki jacket.

Investigating officer, PC Ffion Mount, based at Oxford police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has information, to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the other man who was being helped by the victim from the initial assault."
