The Halloween weekend is finally upon us and fang-tastic spooky events are taking place all around Oxford and beyond.

From ghost trails and horror films to Halloween light trials, there is something for everyone no matter how old (or brave) you might be.

We rang around events around the city and further afield to find out just how scary they actually are.

We then rated each event on our every own ‘spooky scale’, with ratings of eerie (which is family-friend), creepy, frightening and terrifying (adult-only events).

The potion making class is aimed at children and will see them brew up some magic with three exciting activities in an hour-long workshop.

Mr Spectre said he does not make his ghost tour scary because there is ‘too much scariness in the world’.

Blenheim Palace afternoon tea – Eerie

Over the Halloween weekend Blenheim Palace is hosting a Halloween afternoon tea.

The adult’s afternoon tea is very similar to a traditional afternoon tea while the children’s one is extra spooky.

The starters for the children’s afternoon tea are comprised of devilled eggs, cheesy popcorn brains and sausage ‘mummy dippers with blood’.

Like the adults menu, the children’s one also includes scones, jam and cream.

The children’s sweets options include a ghost gingerbread biscuit, twit-twoo owl cupcake, milk chocolate waffle witch hat and spooks eye ball jelly.
