Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "The incident involved three vehicles, with one person medically trapped, suffering suspected back injuries, and using specialist hydraulic equipment were able to extricate them from the vehicle."
South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police were also on the scene, along with highways who managed the traffic.
Firefighters say they have attended a 'high volume' of crashes on the city roads in the last two weeks.
Warning drivers, they wrote: "We would like to remind drivers of the need to remain observant and maintain safe distances from vehicles in front."
