A TEENAGER has admitted to stalking a woman for five months in Oxford.

Between April 1 and September 15, Charles Oakey of Hobby Close, Greater Leys stalked a woman which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her.

The 19-year-old sent threatening messages by various electronic means.

Oakey pleaded guilty at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 8, and  was given a suspended sentence for 24 months and must complete a rehabilitation activity requirement.

He must also carry out unpaid work for 100 hours within the next twelve months. 

A restraining order was made whereby Oakey must not contact the woman directly or indirectly and not enter a part of Oxford.

The order lasts until October 7, 2024.

He must pay a victim surcharge of £128 and pay costs of £85.
