JUST over a quarter of young people, aged 12 to 15, have had their first dose of the Covid vaccine.

The Government has published a list of the estimated cumulative take-up of first doses of Covid-19 vaccine among 12 to 15-year-olds in England and Scotland by local authority.

The data, published on its coronavirus dashboard, revealed that 27.2 per cent of those aged 12 to 15 are estimated to have been jabbed.

This compared to 62.9 per cent in Dumfries and Galloway and 5.2 per cent in Lewisham.

The Government gave the green light for children aged 12 to 15 to be vaccinated last month.
