POSITIVE cases of coronavirus in Oxfordshire have risen by 446 in the latest figures.

Zero deaths were recorded in the county, in the latest statistics, released by the Government.

The new cases were recorded as follows:

Oxford - 74

Cherwell - 96

South Oxfordshire - 97

Vale of White Horse - 101

West Oxfordshire - 80

These latest figures mean there has now been a total of 68,473 recorded cases of Covid-19 in the county.

Across the UK, 45,066 new people had a positive test result reported today.

Between October 8 and yesterday, 277,875 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows an increase of 13 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

There were 157 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported.

Between October 8 and today, there were 823 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of nine per cent compared to the previous seven days.

So far in Oxfordshire, 555,956 people have had their first dose of the vaccine, while 513,120 have received their second dose.

There were 7,024 people in hospital with coronavirus on Wednesday, with 781 of these patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator.
