A PERSON was taken to hospital after being involved in a two-lorry crash on the A34 this morning.

One lane is still closed southbound on the carriageway from junction 9 of the M40 to the Pear Tree junction while recovery work and accident investigation work is carried out.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) was called to the scene at around 3.31am.

It sent a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance crews and a doctor and they assessed and treated one patient for serious injuries.

Following treatment at the scene by crews, the patient was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service also rushed to the scene where they used hydraulic equipment to free the person who was trapped in one of the lorries.
