A car was seized by police in Didcot for being uninsured.
The vehicle was stopped by Thames Valley Police officers after an automatic number-plate recognition camera indicated it may have no insurance.
Police officers spoke with the driver who was reported for driving with no insurance and the car was seized.
Sharing information about the seized car on Twitter, the Thames Valley Police Roads Policing Twitter account posted a photograph of the seized black Clio.
The car had a large sticker in the rear window which read: “No Insurance. Seized by police. Stay insured … it’s the law.”
In the UK it is illegal to drive a vehicle on a road or in a public place without at least 3rd party insurance.
If caught without insurance, the police have the power to seize, and in some cases, destroy the vehicle.
They could also give you a fixed penalty of £300, six penalty points, an unlimited fine and you could be disqualified from driving.
