A number of roads in Oxford will be closed next weekend due to the return of a half marathon.

The Oxford Half returns to the city on October 17, with thousands of participants already signed up to help to raise funds for local charities.

From 9.30am, runners will take on the flat 13.1 mile route that begins in the city centre and passes through Old Marston village, the River Cherwell, Oxford University’s Lady Margaret Hall, before finally finishing on Parks Road.

Over the weekend of the half marathon there will be changes to usual traffic routes in the city.

However, access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times on all roads during the event.

These are all the road closures you need to know.

Saturday 16

• Broad Street (between Turl St and Magdalen St East) will close at 08:00.

• At 18:00 the remainder of Broad Street, along with Parks Road (between Holywell St & South Parks Rd) and a small section of Museum Road will close.

• Th ese roads will remain closed on Sunday 17th and reopen no later than 18:00.

• Parking suspensions will be in place throughout this period on Broad Street, Parks Road and Museum Road.

Sunday 17

Residents in the Norham Manor (NM) CPZ will be permitted to park their vehicles in roads on the west of Banbury Road, in either the Walton Manor (WM) or North Oxford (NX) CPZs, from Saturday 16th evening through until Sunday 17th evening.
