A CARE home resident said she had the time of her life after being driven around in a convertible for the first time.
Sheila, who lives at Churchfields Care Home on Pound Lane, Cassington, had the 'ride of her life' when she was taken for a spin in a staff member's soft top.
She said: “It made me feel so happy and free, I couldn’t keep my arms in the car.”
Sheila had seen an employee arrive at the home in her convertible car during the summer and mentioned that she would love to go for a ride as she had never been in one.
Churchfields then organised for Sheila to go out with staff members Faye and Claire for a trip around the Oxfordshire countryside.
Jane Roberts, owner of Churchfields, said: “It was absolutely fantastic to see that Sheila enjoyed her ride.
“This is something Sheila mentioned to us, and we are thrilled to be able to give her that experience. It was wonderful to see the happiness it created.”
The trip finished off with a drive-through coffee at Costa.
Sheila said: “It made me feel proud to be in a lovely car. I can’t thank Faye and Claire enough for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime.”
She added: “I honestly felt like the Queen.”
