The emergency services have dealt with two crashes on the M40 overnight.
Both incidents happened in the same area on the northbound carriageway between junctions 10 and 11 near Banbury.
The first collision happened just after midnight.
Firefighters from Bicester, Banbury and Kidlington, along with Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service attended the scene.
To assist the passenger in the rear the fire service used heavy rescue gear to remove the car’s rear door and force the front door open.
The driver and passenger were both able to walk out the vehicle after a medical assessment.
