A drug driver hit 140mph as he led police on a ‘horrendous’ pursuit across two counties.
Adrian Osiecki, 30, was jailed for a year and a half by a judge in Coventry for the 21 mile chase.
Welcoming the sentence, PC Steve Lane said: “The manner of Osiecki’s driving was utterly horrendous, putting both himself and other road users at great risk.
“This is a significant jail term for a dangerous, unlicensed and uninsured driver, who, while under the influence of drugs, was so intent to get away that he drove at speeds more than twice the limit, showing no regard for the safety of other road users.”
His black Mercedes C200 was caught on traffic cameras on the A34 near Oxford at around 2pm on February 1.
Police officers tried to stop the Mercedes, which was being driven on false number plates, but Osiecki sped away.
Following multiple dangerous driving manoeuvres, Osiecki left the motorway but crashed into a roundabout. After making off on foot, our colleagues from @NPAShq & @warkspolice were on hand to help and he was detained 👮🏼

A police helicopter was scrambled and traffic officers from Warwickshire Police joined the chase.
Eventually, Osiecki crashed the Mercedes into a roundabout as he left the motorway. He fled on foot, but was caught by the Warwickshire officers. He had no insurance, an expired driving licence and was driving under the influence of drugs.
Osiecki, of Aldbourne Road, Coventry, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, drug driving, driving a vehicle while otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving with no insurance and failing to stop for police.
He was banned from driving for 40 months.
