A man was threatened by a crook brandishing a ‘Nando’s stick’.
Arron Gardner, 36, had been due to stand trial later this week on an allegation he'd been making threats with the offensive weapon in Williamson Way, Rose Hill, on July 15 last year.
But appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Monday afternoon, Gardner, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to the charge.
Nando’s ‘sticks’, which he used to threatened his victim last summer, are used as table markers at the chicken restaurant chain.
Richard Davies, defending, asked for Gardner to be sentenced on Wednesday as he also faced charges of assaulting an emergency worker.
Remanding him in custody, Judge Michael Gledhill QC said: “We’ll meet again on Wednesday when all the matters will be before the courts.”
