AN AUTHOR has published a sequel, less than two years after his debut novel.

Bampton resident Steve Sheppard saw A Very Important Teapot hit the shelves in late 2019, with sequel Bored to Death in the Baltics now available to purchase.

Mr Sheppard describes the books as ‘comedy spy thrillers’.

He said: “It’s a direct sequel with the same characters and set four months later.

“I thought a sequel would be a good idea after the first got good responses from people, and I was writing notes whilst I was writing the first.

“Because I had the main characters already, it was almost easier as I had something to hang it on.

“I think this second one adds some credibility and I’ve had a number of good reviews for the first book from people and other writers so clearly it was enjoyed, which makes this worthwhile.

“Initial reviews are that the second is better than the first so that’s reassuring and very encouraging for me.

“I’m hoping it won’t end here, I’ve started writing a third book and I’ve got the basic plot in my mind so hopefully all being good, it’ll get published too.

“In broad terms, they’re comedy spy thrillers – they’re fun, light-hearted, entertaining but not a spoof.”

Bored to Death in the Baltics is available on Amazon.
