An arrest warrant was issued after a burglar accused of flouting his three year community order failed to attend court.

Malcolm Plaisted, 34, was urged in July to ‘take the chance’ he was being given through the community order and two year drug rehabilitation programme.

“It’s probably the last one you’re going to get in your adult life,” Judge Ian Pringle QC told him.

Plaisted, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, had admitted breaking into homes in Ablett Road and Parsons Place in December last year.

He also asked the judge to take into consideration another burglary in Parsons Place, the theft of tobacco at John Radcliffe Hospital on November 22, 2020, stealing a jewellery box in Nye Bevan Road, Cowley, on December 28 and the fraudulent use of a bank card in Tesco.

On Thursday, he was due before Oxford Crown Court accused of breaching his community order.

Issuing a warrant for his arrest, Judge Michael Gledhill QC said: “He’s had four-and-a-half hours to get here. He’s obviously not coming.”
