POSITIVE cases of coronavirus in Oxfordshire have risen by 267 in the latest figures.

One death was recorded in the county, in the latest statistics, released by the Government.

The new cases were recorded as follows:

Oxford (65)

• Cherwell (63)

• South Oxfordshire (49)

Vale of White Horse (49)

• West Oxfordshire (41)

These latest figures mean there has now been a total of 59,393 recorded cases of Covid-19 in the county.

Across the UK, 32,651 new people had a positive test result reported today.

Between September 11 and today, 206,332 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows a decrease of 23 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

There were 178 deaths in the UK within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported in the latest figures.

Between September 11 and today, there has been 995 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

This shows an increase of 5.1 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

The latest vaccination figures reveal that more than 48 and a half million people have been given a first dose, while more than 44 million people have been given a second dose.
