A NEW Oxfordshire Homebase store opened today.

The Abingdon store in Marcham Road, occupies part of the site of the company’s previous store. Its opening has created 29 jobs.

Sam Blades, store manager, said: “I’m delighted that we’re back in Abingdon and my fantastic team is ready to help with all your home and garden projects.

“Whether you’re looking for a specific product or you’re just in need of some ideas and advice, we’re here for you.”

Order and collect is available, allowing customers to buy products from the full range of more than 35,000 products, either online for pick up in store within the hour or by ordering in store for home delivery.

The store’s garden centre has been installed with bee and insect houses in order to boost biodiversity, with these available to purchase in-store.

The public is invited to meet the Dulux dog at the store from 10am-2pm today.

The new store is open seven days a week – Monday-Saturday (9am-8pm) and Sunday (10am-4pm) at Fairacres Retail Park.

It is the fourth store in Oxfordshire, with other branches in Cowley, Bicester and Banbury. There was previously a store in Botley, but that has since closed.
