A Cowley drug dealer has been stripped of £1,700 cash.

Aadam Khan, 21, was given a community order in June for possession of cannabis in September 2019 with intent to supply it.

And on Friday morning, magistrates approved an application by Thames Valley Police for the £1,739 in dirty cash seized from him when he was arrested to be forfeit.

Oxford Magistrates’ Court were told that Khan had been written to a number of times telling him about the police’s plan to keep the money – but he had not responded. He was not present at court for the hearing.

In June, Khan, of Church Cowley Road, was given an 18 month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work and a drug rehabilitation requirement after he was found guilty of possession with intent to supply cannabis. He admitted simple possession of cocaine and was ordered to pay £240 in costs and surcharge.
