POLICE raided 15 properties this week in Oxford and arrested seven men after seizing cannabis plants, cash and jewellery.

Thames Valley Police officers carried out multiple warrants in the city as part of an ongoing investigation into cannabis cultivation.

Throughout the week, officers went to 15 addresses in Derwent Avenue, Edith Road, Fernhill Road, Girdlestone Road, Hawkins Street, Herschel Crescent, Iffley Road, Marlborough Road, Marston Road, Rose Hill, Valentia Road, Wilson Place, Parsons Place, Grovelands and Woodstock Road, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Around 1,000 cannabis plants, £9,000 in cash and high value jewellery was seized.

Seven men from Oxford, aged 21, 23, 25, 27, 32, 33 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of drugs and money laundering offences. They have all been released on bail.

Detective Inspector Simon Hannam, who leads the Oxford Stronghold Team, said: “As part of an extensive investigation into cannabis cultivation officers carried out multiple warrants at properties across Oxford as part of our ongoing commitment to tackling the supply and distribution of drugs in the Thames Valley.

“Disrupting this activity sends a clear message that drugs will not be tolerated and removing them from the streets of Oxford remains a top priority.
