Nowadays, renting out your driveway or garage to commuters or holiday makers can be big business, with residents charging hundreds of pounds for prime parking spots.

On Tuesday, the BBC reported on a city-centre parking space in Bath which sold for £115,000 just two days after being listed online.

The space was described as ‘very rare’ by property agents Whiteley Helyar, who marketed the parking space.

In Oxford, one car parking space costs almost as much as a package holiday for one month’s rent.

How much is the space?

The space located in Rowland Hill Court, Osney Lane, Oxford and is listed for £375 on a rolling monthly basis.

The space is suitable for vehicles up to the size of a van, however there is a height restriction of 2.30m on the location.

It is fully covered by CCTV comes with the spot and it is available 24 hours on all days.

A security fob is required for this parking space with instructions for collection provided to the renter via a confirmation email.

The full address of the parking space is only provided to the renter once they successfully book the spot.
