A drink driver who rammed his Hyundai into another car then crashed into a family vehicle was warned to expect jail.
Mazafar Majid, 46, admitted driving the 63-plate Hyundai i30 dangerously on Harcourt Terrace, Oxford, on August 1.
He was said to have rammed into a parked car on Harcourt Terrace then crashed into a car being driven by a family on Divinity Road.
Appearing before Oxford Crown Court, Majid, of Westbourne, Middlesbrough, also pleaded guilty to drink driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent.
After hearing that Majid had been out of trouble for nine years, had heart problems and had sought help for his alcohol addiction before the crash that landed him in court, Judge Maria Lamb agreed to an application for the case to be adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Bailing him to return to the crown court on October 1, the judge said: “Your counsel has very rightly advised you, I know, by far and away the likely outcome here is immediate custody but it will be helpful for the court to know the fullest possible information about you.”
