A Cowley Road takeaway boss was ordered to pay more than £3,000 in court fines and costs after he admitted selling illegal tobacco.
Issam Al Nabulsi, 46, a director of Pizza Roma, was prosecuted by Oxfordshire County Council for supplying waterpipe – or shisha - tobacco in packs that did not carry health warnings or information about the taste, smell, flavourings or additives in the product.
Appearing before Oxford Magistrates’ Court, Nabulsi, of Chatham Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to five breaches of the 2016 tobacco regulations.
The justices fined him £1,500, ordered he pay £1,389 in costs and a £150 victim surcharge.
The offences were all dated December 15 last year.
