AN RAF servicewoman died at a parachute jump site near Bicester, the MOD has confirmed.
The woman, whose age and rank have not been released, died at RAF Weston on the Green last week, it is understood.
An air force spokesman said: “We can confirm that a service person has died at RAF Weston on the Green. Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues at this time.
“The incident is being investigated and it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.”
The Ministry of Defence would not comment on whether the servicewoman had been taking part in a parachute jump.
RAF Weston on the Green is used by the RAF to train parachutists from the army, air force and Royal Navy. The airfield, which is also home to the Oxford Gliding Club, is only manned part time by the RAF.
