PLANS to make a primary school bigger, create a new road and build more flats across the city are just a few of the most notable items happening across the county this week.

PLANS to convert a B&B hotel into flats have been put forward.

The application asks for Parklands B&B, on 100 Banbury Road, to be converted into a number of flats.

If the proposal was approved it would see one apartment being built in the basement and seven dwellings being built above ground on the first and second floor.

It also asks to build a 'coach house' in the garden to create three more living spaces.

Provisions for a car park and bicycle storage point would also be added.

OXFORD University has plans to renovate an old library into a multi-purpose space.

The university plans to convert the Radcliffe Science Library to create a new graduate college space, called Reuben College, a communal dining space, and a Museums Collections Centre to facilitate collections-based teaching, research and engagement.

The redevelopment of the site will also include the adjoining buildings (the western wing of the Inorganic Chemistry Lab and Abbot’s Kitchen) and its connecting spaces.

The university said the aim of the refurbishment is 'to improve the usability, comfort, quality and layout of the library'.

A CAR repair store could be converted to create flats.

The site on 385 Cowley Road is currently occupied by Mr Clutch Autocentre.

The space currently looks 'industrial' and 'essentially' has a two-storey form.

The plan asks for permission to demolish full planning permission to demolish the existing car repair garage and erect a two storey building to provide five two bedroom flats.

It also asks for one office unit to be built, as well as a car park, and provisions to store bikes and bins.

The plan said the new development would not have any affect upon neighbouring amenities.

THE county council has submitted a planning application to renovate and extend a local primary school.

If plans went ahead Radley C of E Primary School on Church Road, would be extended to create a teaching block with five new classrooms.

This would allow the school to double the number of pupils it can take each year.

The plans would also mean parts of the existing school hall and kitchen would be demolished to allow this space to be bigger.

Outdoor areas, where the soft and hard play areas are located, would be altered and a sports pitch would be created.

THE COUNTY council has submitted a plan for a new road to be built.

The Benson Relief Road would be built between the and north-east of the A4074/B4009 Elm Bridge Roundabout; and land north of the new residential development to the north of Littleworth Road if approved.

The road is said to help with the village's transportation problems and forms part of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan.

The road will help future traffic issues, caused by increase of homes across Benson and across the district.
