An octogenarian found dead at his Bicester home had ‘not been seen for some time’, an inquest heard.
Lionel Richardson’s body was found at his home in Isis Avenue, Bicester, on August 13, Oxford Coroners’ Court was told.
The coroner recorded that the 81-year-old had not been seen for some time.
A post-mortem was carried out but it was not possible to confirm the cause of Mr Richardson’s death ‘due to advanced decomposition’ of his remains.
The inquest was opened and the case adjourned to December 2.
The purpose of an inquest is to establish the identity of a deceased person and how they died.
