A retired architect died after a fire at his house in Banbury.
Derek Barrett, 80, was rescued from the house in East Street, Banbury, on August 22. He was pronounced dead at the scene by an air ambulance doctor.
Oxford Coroners’ Court heard that the cause of Mr Barrett’s death remains under investigation. A post-mortem has been carried out.
Mr Barrett, a retired architect, was born in Marston St Lawrence, Northamptonshire, in 1941.
A full inquest will be held on January 27 next year.
