School is back and parents are being asked to mark the occasion by sending in photos of their children in school uniform.

For some pupils it will be their first day at school while others are making the leap from primary school to secondary school.

The coronavirus pandemic has made teaching conditions difficult in the past 18 months but after the long summer break children are looking forward to spending time in class once again with their friends.

To mark the occasion the Oxford Mail will run an eight-page supplement of your photos on Saturday, September 18.

There will no doubt be a colourful array of different uniforms and book bags on display.

Parents across the county have spent the last few weeks buying up the school uniform they need.

If it is not available in the shops there is always the option of buying it second-hand, sometimes from the school itself.

If children have grown out of their uniforms, then some families have been left facing a big bill before the end of the summer holidays.

And if the clothes are not available in the shops sometimes they can be ordered online.

Editor Pete Gavan said: “It’s always a big moment when the schools go back and we want to celebrate that, so make sure you send us your pictures so we can feature them in our supplement.

“We are hoping as many families as possible take the opportunity to join in. "Make sure you use the link”
