This is the scene of devastation left after Luke Marney crashed his ‘pool car’ Corsa during a police chase out of Banbury.
Judge Nigel Daly, who sentenced the 23-year-old to a two year suspended prison sentence last week, branded Marney’s driving in the run-up to the crash in Adderbury ‘appalling’.
The Crown Prosecution Service has now released two images of the wreckage, taken by police officers after the crash on September 15 last year.
Marney’s front seat passenger was left with multiple broken bones and spent 11 days on the intensive care unit after the smash.
The crash followed a four minute police chase that started in Banbury town centre when officers in an unmarked car tried to pull the Corsa over.
The Vauxhall driven by Marney, who admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving, was suspected of being a ‘pool car’ shared between criminals and used to commit offences.
