There were more than 150 reported bicycle thefts across Oxfordshire in July, new police data has shown.

Data from Thames Valley Police revealed 162 bicycles were reported as stolen across the county in July.

The vast majority of thefts (121) took place in Oxford during the month, with a large number of these thefts located in the city centre.

Witney was the area with the highest number of thefts in the county after Oxford, however there were just six recorded there in July.

Abingdon saw four thefts while Bicester and Wantage both had just two.

Thefts were also reported in locations such as Kingston Bagpuize, Standlake, Carterton, Alvescot and Kidlington.
