A family-run distillery has created a new gin to thank Covid-19 vaccination volunteers.
Chalgrove Artisan Distillery created OX11 after it was approached by Kathryn Hall, the business and clinical services manager at Woodlands Medical Centre in Didcot.
The centre wanted to show appreciation to its vaccination volunteers and thank them for their hard work throughout the jabs programme.
Distillery marketing director Ben Clark said: “Just the fact the volunteers are being thanked for all their efforts is just so incredible.”
Owner director Jenny Clark added being approached by the medical centre was ‘quite nice’ as some of their own family members worked on the frontline throughout the pandemic.
She added: “It is nice to be giving something back to the NHS after all their hard work.”

All the gins the distillery produces are named after Oxfordshire postcodes, with the OX11 gin being no different and taking its name from the location of Woodlands Medical Centre.
The distillery says that the new OX11 gin utilises rose and chamomile flavours and the purple rose petals are sourced locally.
The colour of the petals also helped inspire the bottle’s design.
Mr Clark believes the gin’s flavours suit the NHS and vaccination volunteers.
He said: “We thought that would be a nice fit as there are a number of healing properties reported in chamomile.”
The distillery officially launches the gin on September 1, coinciding with the end of the vaccination programme at the medical centre.
The newly-created gin will go sale to the public from the same day.
