In existence for 40 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job scheme is dedicated to recognising the industry’s very best performers and is a prestigious accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.

To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership.

Judges look for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality, award-winning site managers apart from the rest.

Mr Thacker, who became interested in the property industry following a carpentry apprenticeship, has 32 years of experience in the sector.

He has worked for Redrow since 2019, as a site manager before working his way up in just two short years to acting area construction manager.

Commenting on his award win, he said: “Winning this award is a fantastic achievement. Site management is hard work, but we produce homes built to an award-winning standard – and that is incredibly satisfying.

“There’s nothing quite like the feeling of a job well done every time we hand over a home which surpasses the customer’s expectations. This isn’t just an individual award to me; it’s a true testament to the whole team’s hard work and dedication. I’d like to thank them all for their continued support over the past two years.”
