Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic accident on Saturday morning.

At around 8.50am there was a collision between a grey Toyota RAV4 vehicle and a black Honda motorcycle on the A329 road between Stadhampton and Newington.

It took place at the junction with Stadhampton Road, which leads to Drayton St Leonard.

Tragically, the motorcyclist, a man aged 49 from Oxfordshire, died at the scene.

There were no other injuries as a result of the collision. No arrests have been made.

Investigating officer, PC Liam Calvert, of Bicester Howes Lane police station, said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this incredibly difficult time.

"His next of kin have been notified and are being closely supported by specially trained officers.

“We are now appealing for witnesses and information from the public following this collision. 

“If you were travelling on the A329 road this morning, and believe you saw one or both of these vehicles, please get in touch with police.

“I would also like to ask motorists to check dash cam footage in case anything significant has been captured on there.
