Firefighters rushed to the scene of a blaze that gutted a kitchen.

Oxfordshire and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Services were called to the property in Henley just before 5.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Crews from Reading, Didcot Fire Station and Goring Fire Station were quickly on the scene.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and the blaze was extinguished soon after.

It was confined to the one property in the terrace.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault.

Nobody was in the building at the time of the fire and nobody was hurt.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "The alarm could have been raised earlier if working smoke alarms were present! You are four times more likely to die in a house fire if you don’t have working smoke alarms."
