Witney Music Festival, one of the town’s biggest events, was due to take place at the weekend but has now been postponed by organisers.

The last festival took place in 2019 and like last year the event is off due to Covid-19, despite Government restrictions being lifted.

Earlier this month organisers confirmed it would not go ahead on Saturday.

A statement from organisers said earlier: "In light of Covid-19 restrictions being lifted, Witney Music Festival was once again in a realistic position to host an event.

"We have tried our very best on a heavily reduced timeline to produce an event this year for the residents of Witney but at this time we are currently still in negotiations with the local authorities over certain aspects of the event.

"This means we are unable to go ahead on our scheduled date and are hoping to rearrange a new date as soon as possible.

"We wish to make it clear that Witney Town Council are supportive of the event and continue to offer assistance and guidance.

"West Oxfordshire District Council have to follow due process because some challenges from the public have been made regarding the event.

"Unfortunately, this process cannot be completed before the original date hence the postponement."
