A man has been issued with a civil injunction following an application by Thames Valley Police which was supported by British Transport Police. 

Christopher Miller, aged 50, of Croxford Gardens, Kidlington was issued with the injunction under sections 1 and 4 of the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The order was issued at Oxford County Court on Wednesday (11/8).

A spokesperson for Bicester and Kidlington Problem Solving Team, said: “The behaviour that Christopher Miller has displayed over a long period of time has caused many residents, members of the public and railway staff significant amount of alarm and distress.

"The Bicester and Kidlington Problem Solving Team continues to listen to concerns of residents and our partners and we welcome the ruling of the court granting this injunction on Mr Miller.

"This has been the accumulation of a process that has taken just over a year and we would like thank those who have been affected by his behaviour for their patience”.

The conditions of the order are as follows:

  • Standing or loitering, on or within 50 meters of any bridge over A34, M40 or Railway lines in the county of Oxfordshire
  • Causing alarm or distress to road or train users by threatening (by body movement or otherwise) to jump, step or lean over the safety barriers of any bridge or walkway
  • Entering any land or railway network owned or managed by either Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railways or Network Rail in the County of Oxfordshire, save for the purpose of traveling promptly with a valid ticket.
  • Walking on the carriageway (road) of the A34, M40 or the A4165 Oxford Rd between junctions with the A40 and the A4260
  • Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour towards any police officer or other emergency worker as defined within the meaning of section 3 (1) of the Assaults on Emergency Workers Act 2018, or any railway company employee
  • Obstructing an officer or PCSO in the execution of their duty.
  • Threatening or acting in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any resident of 8 particular properties on Croxford Gardens, Kidlington or any persons visiting thereof.

The order lasts for a period of 5 years with a power of arrest for 3 years.
