A MAN was robbed of his electric scooter in Cowley, Oxford.

The incident happened at around 1.15pm on Monday, August 2 when the victim was riding the scooter near to the bus stop in Barns Road outside Templars Square shopping centre.

He was approached by another man who stopped him and told him to hand over his e-scooter and made threats towards him.

The victim handed it over and the offender made off.

A 35-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident and will appear in court on Friday, September 3.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses.

Investigating officer PC Donal McGuckin, based at St Aldates police station said: “This incident took place on a Monday lunchtime whilst the area around Templars Square was busy.

“I know that members of the public were waiting at the bus stop at the time of this incident and I am keen to speak with these individuals as I believe they may have information that would prove vital to this investigation.
