This week students all across Oxfordshire will receive their A Level and GCSE grades, their results culminating years of hard work and study.

Tuesday 10 August is A Level results day which will see students receive the grades they need to attend university, further education or secure apprenticeships or full-time employment.

Thursday 12 August is GCSE results day where students will receive the grades they need to study certain subjects at A Level, get into college or secure a place on an apprenticeship.

Following the cancellation of exams in 2021, students will be given grades determined by their teachers whereby pupils are only assessed on what they have been taught during the pandemic.

Students are also being given the opportunity to sit their exams in the autumn term, if they so wish.

Last year’s exam results were called a ‘fiasco’ and saw students receive grades well below what they were predicted due to an algorithm. This year the algorithm has been scrapped in favour of teacher led results.

How are we covering results days 2021?

We will start the mornings on both Tuesday and Thursday with a live blog to keep you up to date with all the county-wide results, success stories, photographs and the very latest news.

Our reporters will be on the ground. They will be heading to Oxfordshire colleges and schools on both A Level and GCSE results days to chat with students, parents and teachers to get the stories behind yet another academic year battling the pandemic.

Oxford Mail staff will also be calling around schools and colleges, chatting with teachers and staff about their students' results.

You can follow our website and social media for all the latest stories and breaking results news from across Oxfordshire.
