POLICE were called to a village in Oxfordshire after residents spotted a suspicious man carrying a torch.
Following a number of reports, they conducted house to house enquires in Bodicote, near Banbury, where the man was seen on Saturday night looking at people's homes.

However, this turned out to be a lost takeaway delivery driver trying to find the correct address.
In a post on social media the force reassured residents in Bodicote and confirmed that this was 'innocent'.
Officers have been conducted house to house enquires in Bodicote in relation to a male seen on Saturday night with a torch looking at houses. We would like to reassure residents that this is innocent and was in fact a lost takeaway delivery driver #P4327

Responding to the post resident Lisa Rushton, who works in the emergency services, pointed out that this is not only a problem for delivery drivers.
She explained: "It is a huge problem when you are trying to find a house number in the dark which anyone in the emergency services will confirm.
"Make them big so they can be seen from the road and light them up at night."
