A TEENAGER found to have trafficked another man as part of a County Lines drugs operation will appeal his conviction.

Pravin Maheswaran, 18, was found guilty by a district judge last month of possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine in Oxford in October 2020, possession of £860 of dirty cash and modern slavery charges.

Prosecutors said he was responsible for arranging the travel of a man to Oxford with a view to his being exploited and forcing him to work.

Sitting at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday, Judge Ian Pringle QC heard Maheswaran wished to appeal his conviction. A three-day appeal hearing was set down for December 13.

Maheswaran, of Oldbury, West Midlands, was bailed with conditions to live and sleep at his home address, report daily to his local police station and only leave the house with an adult family member.

His bail conditions ban him from entering Oxfordshire, Wales, London, Avon and Somerset, and Essex unless for court hearings or pre-arranged legal appointments.
