THERE'S something about having food and drink that is unique to a particular town, city or country.

Oxfordshire is home to a number of products that were created in the area.

We've rounded up all of the things you can eat and drink that come from Oxfordshire:

Banbury Cake

A Banbury cake is a spiced, oval-shaped, currant-filled puff pastry. They are often described as a cross between mince pies and Eccles cakes. The cakes have been made since 1586.

You can still get them in Banbury or you can order them online at banburycakes.co.uk.

Frank Cooper's Oxford Marmalade

First made by Oxford shopkeeper Frank Cooper's wife Sarah-Jane in 1874, Oxford Marmalade is made using Seville oranges.

The former factory on Park End Street (now part of Frideswide Square) survives and is a listed building now called "The Jam Factory" and houses an arts centre, restaurant, and bar.

Oxford Blue Cheese

Produced by the Oxford Cheese Company based in the Covered Market, Oxford Blue is a soft and creamy cheese with a rich flavour. This cheese has a good length so its taste lingers in your mouth.

Baron Robert Pouget is the founder of the Oxford Cheese Company and created Oxford Blue in the mid 1990s.

Burford Lardy Cake

Lardy cakes are enriched with sugar, spices, sultanas and currants. You can get them made by hand at family-run craft bakery Huffkins in Burford and Witney.

Oxford Sausages

Oxford Sausages are made from pork and veal and have a higher level of spice seasoning. You can get them at David John Butchers in the Covered Market.

Oxford Sauce

A spin-off of brown sauce, Oxford Sauce has a spicy kick and was also created by Baron Robert Pouget in 2000 to celebrate the millennium. It is said to be the perfect accompaniment to English Breakfasts and vegetarian and meat dishes.

You can buy it at Waitrose and online.

The Oxford Artisan Distillery (TOAD)

TOAD is Oxford's first distillery. It creates spirits using sustainably grown populations of ancient heritage grain inlcuding whiskey and vodka.
