The axolotl was loaned by World of Water in Swindon and it has joined the museum for its Book of Hopes exhibition which is taking place this summer.
If you think you have the perfect name for the creature, enter the competition at www.storymuseum.org.uk/axolotl.
There are prizes up for grabs.
