A ‘DECORATED’ war veteran admitted attacking a man in Abingdon.

Soldier Daniel McGlone, 39, was described by his barrister as a ‘decorated’ campaign soldier with an exemplary service record.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court wearing a windowpane check suit, McGlone, of Laburnum Avenue, Abingdon, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent but guilty to a lesser charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

He attacked a man in Abingdon on December 20 last year.

Alistair Grainger, defending, asked the judge to adjourn for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Judge Ian Pringle QC put the case back until September 16.

Richard Reynolds appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.
