First time buyer Laura McLean was working in Bicester before deciding she wanted to find a place of her own. Moving out from her parents’ home, she started looking in the local area so that she had a simple commute to work. She explains:

“I had been planning to move out for a while and decided to have a look around Bicester for a place of my own, so I didn't have to commute very far. I knew of the area through friends and then these new apartments popped up at Heyford Park. I thought I would just go and have a little look and as soon as I got there I fell in love with my apartment and the area too. I immediately saw myself living here.”

Laura viewed some of the houses for sale, but was most keen on the new apartments, which are located in the Village Centre at the heart of Heyford Park.

“I did look at the houses, but the apartment was just so perfectly finished and really big – a great size for me. It just felt right as soon as I walked in the door. This is my first place that I’ve owned and lived in on my own and I'm so happy and proud of myself that I've achieved it. I sit on my balcony every evening and can't believe it's mine.”

Since moving in, Laura has been getting to know some of her neighbours whilst watching Heyford Park continue to grow. She says:

“I like how friendly everyone is and how much Heyford Park is growing. I'm excited to see it when more is completed. There’s activity in the day and when the evening comes the silence is bliss – it’s so peaceful and pretty.”

She now has an easy commute to Bicester, just ten minutes away, as well as access to Heyford Park’s shops which include Sainsburys, amongst others.

“It’s so convenient for work and also not far from Oxford, which is only a bus journey away, and I love that there are so many places to walk.”

Heyford Park is set on more than 1,200 acres of land, with the area known for its long-distinguished history as a former RAF base. Dorchester Living is currently transforming the area into a vibrant new community, featuring homes, retail and commercial premises, employment spaces, heritage and community buildings.
