This is the face of the man who ended up in prison – after spurning the chance he’d been given by an Oxford judge.

Zywai Nyahoda, 32, was handed a 23 month suspended sentence last November after he’d been caught in an Oxford park with class A drugs. He claimed he’d been there to steal drugs from his dealer.

But at Oxford Crown Court this week, he had 20 months of that suspended sentence activated by Judge Maria Lamb. He’d repeatedly failed to attend probation appointments. You can read our report from court here.

Sending him down, Judge Lamb said: “The chance that I gave you hasn’t been taken and this suspended sentence must be brought into operation.”

Thames Valley Police has now released Nyahoda's custody picture.
