A TEACHING assistant had her hair chopped away by her children so that her Year 2 class can sponsor a dolphin.
Alyson Duckmanton, a teaching assistant at Windmill Primary School in Headington, allowed her son and daughter to cut her hair, joking she would have to go to the hairdressers after they ‘made a right pig’s ear of it’.
The teaching assistant said if donations hit the £1,000 mark, she will shave her hair off – something she said her children were keen to do.
After raising £225 to date, pupils at Windmill Primary have said they will ‘get a tank to keep the dolphin in the class’ while one boy said he would go to Scotland to ride on the dolphin.
Funds raised are going to Whale and Dolphin Conservation.
