A MAN in his 40s has died in a hit-and-run crash in Oxfordshire in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened between 2.30am and 6.30am on Wyfold Lane, Peppard Common, in Henley-on Thames.

The victim was found with severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

The full circumstances are being investigated but it appears the man was involved in a fatal crash with a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

Senior investigating officer, detective sergeant Tony Jenkins, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Three Mile Cross, said on Sunday: "Sadly, a man has died in this incident and firstly our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
