OVER HALF of Oxford Mail readers have said they will not continue to wear face masks after so-called ‘Freedom Day’ on July 19th.
The Prime Minister announced earlier this week that if easing restrictions goes ahead in two weeks, people will be able to choose whether they use facemasks or not in public.
The legal requirement to wear face masks will be lifted in England on July 19 although guidance will suggest people might still choose to do so in crowded places.
According to a poll that took over 1,000 people’s opinions, 46 per cent of Oxfordshire residents will continue to wear face masks after Freedom Day, while the majority (54 per cent) said they will ditch the masks on July 19th.
A YouGov poll, however, showed that 83 per cent of the public would continue to wear a mask if it was a personal choice.
