A WOMAN accused of smuggling drugs into prison failed to turn up for her sentencing hearing.

Patricia Flood, 54, was due before Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday afternoon after she’d earlier admitted taking heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis into HMP Bullingdon, near Bicester, in December 2019.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC was told that Flood’s solicitors had written to inform her of the court hearing and to confirm they would no longer be representing her.

Prosecutor Christopher Pembridge asked the judge to issue a warrant for her arrest.

The judge said: “I’m sure she is aware the hearing should take place today and I issue a warrant not backed for bail.”

Flood, of Monks Way, Southampton, is said to have taken 0.02g of heroin mixed with caffeine, 0.037g of crack cocaine and 1.15g of cannabis into HMP Bullingdon on December 18, 2019.
