The last calls are being made for businesses to apply for a 'Restart Grant', which supports businesses in reopening safely as Covid restrictions are lifted.

Oxford City Council is urging businesses to apply and says that even if a business has already opened, it can still be eligible for the pot of funding.
However, time is running out and businesses have today to get their applications in.

Eligible businesses in the non-essential retail sector may be entitled to a one-off cash grant of up to £6,000 from local councils. Eligible businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym sectors may be entitled to a one-off cash grant of up to £18,000 from local councils.

A business is eligible if it is based in England; rate-paying; in the non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care or gym sectors and if it was trading on April 1, 2021.

Councillor Susan Brown, leader of Oxford City Council, said: “We are reaching the end of the period for businesses to apply for a grant to help them restart.

"We want all eligible businesses to apply, so if you think you might be entitled to some grant to help you transition from lockdown, don’t delay – apply today."
