ANTI-VACCINE activists hounded people queuing outside a Covid-19 vaccination centre in Oxford yesterday in an attempt to convince them not to go ahead with immunisation.

Hundreds of people queued for hours at a walk-in clinic at East Oxford Health Centre aimed to help accelerate the local vaccination programme.

As the queue snaked down the health centre ramp, along either side of the access road and in a lengthy zig-zag across Manzil Way Park to Cowley Road, anti-vaxx activists handed out leaflets in an attempt to discourage participants.

After a number of complaints, EOHC practice manager Ivan More-O'Ferrell reminded them of the need to wear masks and maintain social distancing when approaching people in the queue.

Adults will also be able to get their first dose of a Covid-19 jab at a walk-in clinic held at The Leys Health Centre on Dunnock Way on Saturday, July 3, from 11.30am until 1.30pm.
